is your business ready for a Digital Transformation?

Digital Transformation is currently the new buzzword floating around time.  So what does it mean?  And more importantly, what does it mean for my business?

Digital Transformation is the evaluation of business processes and implementing technology to gain efficiency in the business by transforming the processes, utilising technology.

Sounds confusing?  It needn’t be.

Our IT Consultants and business analysts have experience in various industries and business environment to assist you in achieving your digital transformation targets.

In order to get you started on your digital transformation journey, we follow the transform success steps:

  1. Ensure your current business processes are mapped
In order to determine where you want to go, you will need to see where you are coming  from.  It is vitally important to have your current processes mapped, so you can get insight in where to target your efforts to gain efficiency.

This analysis focusses on the People Process Technology principles, where the three arms is utilised to determine the strength and weakness of a process.  It is important to understand that in most instances, data can be added to this evaluation as well – since we all now that garbage in, means garbage out.
  2. Define your future processes
This will determine the efficiency gains.  In most cases you will have an ideal future process, but this isn’t the only option, especially if you are limited by certain factors such as business process maturity, lack of resources or technological restraints.  In these circumstances, one can have analyse the situation by utilising the ‘Do nothing, Do something, Do everything’ use cases.
These use cases allow us to provide a client with 3 options, detailing the pro’s and con’s of each.  In the case of ‘Do nothing’, what would the benefit / disadvantage be of doing nothing and leaving the process as is.  Or would we achieve benefits by ‘Doing something’, does the ‘Do everything’ option greatly outweigh the first two options?
  3. Gap Analysis
So now that we have investigated the options, chosen an appropriate What do we have to do in order to achieve the outcome we are after?  Do we have to invest in the right people?  Does the complete process need to change or do we have to implement a technological solution to sustain the process?  These are the questions that will be answered in the gap analysis.
  4. Risk and Change Management
These are important steps that are missed in most Digital Transformation Projects.  We have to identify the risks, management them accordingly.  Most projects fail when a business is unsure about the amount of risk it is taking and places a roadblock on change.  Likewise, business and user adoption is greatly influenced by change management.  The degree and impact of change has to be discussed and relayed to all stakeholders.
  5. Measure success
Now that the new process is implemented, it is important measure your success, learn from mistakes and plan for the future.  Digital transformation is an ongoing process and needs active involvement to succeed.

Our business analysts, project managers and IT consultants are always available to assist you in your digital transformation projects.
